Our History
IRIDEX GROUP IMPORT EXPORT S.R.L. has become, after 30 years of activity, the largest group of companies in the environmental protection industry in Romania. Established in 1990 as a small company, transformed in 1991 into a limited liability company, IRIDEX GROUP has grown organically through its own efforts, through work that has brought added value to shareholders and customers, through well-directed investments in various fields and through the dedication of each member of the team.
IRIDEX Group operates successfully in the following sectors: large infrastructure (municipal infrastructure, environment, energy, transport); civil and industrial construction; agriculture, consumer goods with applications in agriculture, irrigation equipment; waste management - design, construction, operation (municipal, industrial, agricultural waste)
Today, IRIDEX operates 5 landfills, 3 sorting stations, 2 mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) stations and 3 waste composting stations, managing the processing and landfilling of waste for more than 1,000,000 inhabitants of Romania.
1990
During the first year of activity, 1990, the company started to have design and technical assistance activities, as an integral part of the execution of sewerage, road construction and water supply works, contracted with the Municipalities of Voluntari, Mogosoaia, Cornetu and Ciorogarla in the Ilfov Agricultural Sector.
IRIDEX GROUP IMPORT EXPORT started working in GERMANY in 1990, among the first Romanian companies to open branches abroad after the Revolution.
1991-1995
In the period 1991 - 1995 and 1997 - 2003 IRIDEX GROUP has executed over 100 contracts for civil and industrial construction, schools, student dormitories, sports halls, shops, with a total value of over 60.000.000 USD.
IRIDEX GROUP has received the appreciation of prestigious companies such as: HOCTIEF - Mannheim, BILFINGER + BERGER AG Mannheim, RICHARD SPEER GmbH - Mannheim, DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL - Mannheim, CONCEPTAPLAN GmbH - Dossenheim, etc.
1997-2003
Ø 1992-1993 – Production base in Voluntari, Ilfov county4,248 sqm, as well as "Office building G+2"
Ø 1993-1995 – "Office building Gf+5" 41 Frunzei street, sector 2, Bucharest,;
Ø 1998-2000 "Office building Gf+7" in Sos.Bucuresti-Ploiesti nr.17, sector 1, Bucharest
Ø 2001-2004 "Office building Gf+5" in sos.Bucuresti-Ploiesti nr.15, sector 1, Bucuresti,;
Ø 1999 first Centre Integrated Waste Management in Romania Bucharest, Rudeni-Chitila road, following the winning of an international tender organized by the Bucharest municipality.
Ø 2004 Ecological waste landfill Costinestion an area of 10 ha, with a modern working technology, with baling and packaging waste, unique in this part of Europe.
Creation of new companies within the group between 1992-2008
- 1992 - S.C. ZIPACON S.R.L. - manufacturer of cranes and self-propelled cranes; mechanized irrigation systems:
- 1993 - S.C. IRIDEX GROUP PLASTIC S.R.L. - manufacturer and trader of polyethylene nets, cement mixtures under FOSROC license
- 1994 - S.C. IRIDEX GROUP CONSTRUCTII S.R.L, general contractor of infrastructure works; water supply networks; pumping systems; technologies using geosynthetic materials;
- 2000 S.C. SERVICII SALUBRITATE BUCURESTI S.A., municipal waste management services in the collection and transport segment
- 2008 IRIDEX GROUP SALUBRIZARE S.R.L, collection of non-hazardous waste; treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste; recovery of sorted recyclable materials; decontamination activities and services, wholesale of waste and scrap; road transport of goods; specialized cleaning activities;
IRIDEX GROUP has implemented the Integrated Quality Management System for Environment, Health and Safety at Work, based on ISO 9001; ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
IRIDEX GROUP is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and of the Municipality of Bucharest
